Biarritz Olympique Rugby Club premiered the MyoTruk in France by becoming the first French club to take delivery of the MyoTruk in June 2011. In the last 10 years they have been crowned Champions of France on 3 occasions in 2002, 2006 and 2010. They were also Runners-up on 2 occasions in the prestigious Heineken Cup in 2006 and 2010.
Their Head of Strength and Conditioning, Thibault Giroud, has a wealth of experience in many different sports. He started out as a running back in American Football where he represented Barcelona Dragons and was the first Frenchman to play in NFL Europe. He then moved on to bobsled where he placed 10th in the 4-man bobsled team at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 2002 before he worked with Nigerian sprinter Frankie Fredericks as a trainer. In 2003 he was introduced to rugby, moving to South Africa at first before a move to England to work with the Saracens. Moves to Pau back in France, Harlequins and Celtic Crusaders followed before he was signed by Biarritz Olympique in July 2009. He has since been promoted to Head of Strength and Conditioning with Biarritz.
"We at Biarritz Olympique rugby club have a proud history of superior performance and willingness to utilise cutting edge technology. The MyoTruk has been an excellent addition to our gym. We have used it to build explosive power in our athletes and also to rehabilitate those with back and lower limb injuries. The different pin settings and ability to unload pressure on the athlete's spine set it apart from the leg press and squat."
